Today’s question is, which was the toughest, quitting smoking or quitting drinking?
From the perspective of the both habits, they’re both created over a long time. I don’t know if you can say that smoking cigarettes, probably gets a hold of you quicker. But I think on the flip side of that, alcohol is a much more socially acceptable drug.
It’s a craving that is gonna attack you all the way through the day. Whereas with alcohol, most people don’t drink until the evening because you can’t function as an individual, you can’t go to work. So many things that you can’t do if you’re drinking like driving a car for instance. But you can drive a car, you can work, while you’re smoking.
When I stopped drinking, I also had stopped smoking a couple of years before. I understood myself a bit better, I have more control over myself. So there’s a lot of different ways of looking at this. Of course, this is always going to be a personal thing.
