Just because alcohol is a drug that has been used 4000 years, it doesn’t make it right… Many traditions are only continued because they are traditional, not for any other rational or logical reason.
Another irrational reason for drinking alcohol is because everyone else is doing, at least we perceive everyone else is doing. It’s not rational. In terms of our own lives, it’s dumb. It’s a conformity that will see you in your grave a lot quicker than you would have.
You need to turn this around, on its head, and think that if you are going in the opposite direction to most other people, you’re probably doing the right thing.
We feel secure when we are doing something that we think is traditional. But, as with our comfort zones, tradition also signifies deterioration.
Until next time…
