How Stopping Drinking Alcohol Affected My Work

How alcohol affected my work

You must be the change you wish to see in the world Mahatma Gandhi

How much is alcohol affecting your work and how will your work improve once you stop drinking for good? These are some of the questions I ask in this video. As an example, I take a look at how my work suffered, how long it took once I had eliminated booze for my work to improve, and how far I’ve come in the three years since I began this new clean journey.

    Hi Kevin!
Great video, thank you so much. Nutrition is super important. I got some good ideas about food. I’m great on vegetables, but trying to eat more fruit. The sugar replacement is important. Thanks again! Julie

Especially with your cravings and later in the day. Willpower tends to decrease the more tired you get. You can top up on your willpower by getting some glucose into your system. For me the best form of glucose is either good quality carbs, like rice or beans, or fruit.

    Hi Kevin,

Very good video. Thank you for sending it out, its just what I needed. I’ve been struggling for the last few months. I’ve had a lot of financial concerns lately, driving me crazy, booze always seems like the easy way out.

I’m going to start biking in the mornings. I’m an early person as well but need to commit to more exercise/time for my self.

By the way, where is it that you film and walk, its looks awesome!

    Thanks again,

      Hi Mike,
It’s filmed just outside Guardamar, Alicante, Spain.

I agree, great video. I’ve read somewhere that trying to do well in life is like trying to drive with the handbrake on; I’ve learned the truth of this as my work has been bearing the brunt of my alcohol problem for quite some time.
Your website is a lifesaver, Kevin – I’ve lost so much hope as a result of my drinking and many failed attempts to stop, but these videos are making me believe in the possibility of change again.

Yes, trying to succeed while taking any drug is like trying to drive with the handbrake on. It’s the proverbial downward spiral. Thanks for the comment, Agnes

The hangover takes precedence because it gives us a purpose for the day. It takes away all the other crap in our lives and let’s us just focus on getting better. Once we feel better and face the problems, it’s time to drink again. Thank god I’m not doing that anymore.
