How can I stop drinking alcohol?

by | Stop Drinking Alcohol | 0 comments

Today’s question is: How can I stop drinking alcohol? Is it easy to stop using alcohol? This is a huge question with a very simple answer. It might not be the answer you are looking for. But it is the simple honest truth that you have to get your head around if you want to succeed in stopping drinking alcohol now or for good.

How you, doing? My name’s Kevin O’Hara for alcoholmastery.com

Massive question, right? But it’s got a really, really simple answer. You don’t put the stuff into your mouth.

I know it’s, people say, “What do you mean? I need more than this!” Well, I can give you more than this, but at the end of the day, if you’re not willing to do this essential first step, not put the alcohol into your mouth – you’re not going to do anything, you’re not going to achieve anything.

It’s simple, first, step; stopping drinking alcohol is simple. Changing your life so that you never go back onto the alcohol again – that’s where it gets a bit more complicated.

You control your drinking; you control whether you put the alcohol into your mouth or not. The alcohol doesn’t control anything.

People blame the alcohol they say, “It’s the demon drink; it’s the drink that’s at fault, I can’t help it.”

Yes, you can. You can help this. It’s not the drink that controls anything. The drink, the alcohol is just an inert substance. It means it can’t do anything without you lifting the bottle up and doing it for it. It has no brain, it has no consciousness, it has no mouth to shout out to you. It’s got no ears so that it can listen to you – it’s got none of that stuff – it’s just a liquid in a bottle.

Your alcohol problem has been caused by you, consistently and continuously lifting up the glass and putting it to your mouth and taking a sip, after a sip, after a sip. Swallowing those sips – over and over and over again. The damage that’s been caused to you, has been caused by the accumulation of those sips. That’s the way you’ve got to look at it.

The way you stop drinking alcohol is, first of all, don’t put the stuff into your mouth.
