Have You Ever Been In A Hospital Or Institution On Account Of Your Drinking?

by | Johns Hopkins 20 Questions | 0 comments

Have you ever been in a hospital or institution on account of your drinking is the twentieth and final question of 20 in the Johns Hopkins series of videos to see if you are an alcoholic…

Dumbass Alert!

I can answer yes to the first one and almost yes to the second one.
As I said a couple of posts ago, on the eighteenth question I think it was… that was the one about your doctor, if you’ve ever had to visit your doctor because of your drinking…
I’ve been to the doctor and I’ve been to the hospital, the only time I’ve been to the hospital in my life had been through alcohol related things.

I’ve never been to prison; I’ve never been to any other institution.
I don’t know what they mean by that… maybe it’s a dry out clinic, or a lunatic asylum, I don’t know…
I’ve been arrested a couple of times for drinking, once when I was younger for disturbing the peace at three o’clock in the morning, and I was arrested for drinking and driving, which in some countries could have got me locked up.

It was one of the worst things I’ve ever done in my life while I’ve been drinking.
It was a stupid thing.
And I got my licence taken off me for a year, a big fine, and I nearly lost my business over it.
But it could have been a whole lot worse.

There’s not a whole lot more I can say about this one.
You know yourself if you’ve been in a hospital or institution on account of your drinking that you’ve definitely got a problem.

Thanks for Visiting!

So that was the final, the 20th question from the Johns Hopkins 20 question series, are you an alcoholic?
I really hope that you got something out of it, I definitely did.
I did a lot of soul-searching when I was doing the research for the articles.
I had to think a lot about my own use of alcohol.
What I’d done, the consequences of drinking, the stupid things I’ve done while drinking, and the financial, physical, and personal cost to my life.
So they weren’t as easy as I first thought they would be.
But I certainly got something good out of it.
I hope that you did!
