Well done Kevin for another inspirational video. I’m facing my first Christmas day family gathering with a new life without alcohol, not with dread but with a sense of pride. Thank you from someone you have helped along the journey. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I am in my early forties and have been drinking for over ten years, only to quit for short periods when I was in public life. Having grown up in a family of alcoholics, I tried the whole looking at it as a “disease” angle but that just isn’t congruent with my worldview as I believe in free will and practice it in every area of my life. I just refuse to believe alcohol “owns” me and I will always be one step away from total failure if I quit. After much wasted time, money, and opportunity, not to mention a 25lb weight gain, I have decided my relationship with the toxin is over. TODAY, Christmas Day, 2017. I stumbled across your videos and what you share is so similar to my own perspective. As I was on my hike this morning, I literally prayed for a support team that would “minister” to me in ways most effective for what I need to conquer this and I believe I have found that “team.” THANK YOU for your vulnerability and authenticity. I too, may document my journey as I KNOW so many people like me will benefit. It will be interesting to see the reaction of all those in my life who have NO IDEA I had an emotional relationship with alcohol. Peace be your Christmas day, fellow traveler. So appreciate finding this support and I am absolutely looking forward to a life of presence, complete awareness, and wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.

Hi Rebecca… Good for you. It’s a big step to stop on Christmas Day and I hope you doing really well. Remember, everyone who drinks has an emotional relationship with alcohol in one form or another, they just don’t know it.
