Control Your Alcohol by Allen Carr Book Review

by | Stop Drinking Alcohol | 2 comments

I wanted to do something new today by doing a quick review of a book that I’ve been talking about for a long time. It is one of the best books that I’ve ever read.

I stopped smoking about seven years ago by using this Guy’s Book –  ‘Control Your Smoking‘.

We’re talking about Allen Carr’sEasy way to Control your Alcohol‘.

This book is just one of the best books out there if you want something that is going to break apart all of the bullshit that’s surrounding alcohol and the alcohol industry and culture that we’re surrounded by.

It breaks down the brainwashing and talks about the excuses and reasons behind why we drink. It talks about habits and all that kind of different stuff.

This is one of the best books that you’ll ever buy

I think it’s less than a tenner or something like that but it’s really good. ‘Easy way to Stop Smoking’, that was the other one so this one’s ‘The Easy Way to Control Alcohol – the revolutionary new approach from the International Best Selling Author of The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

It tells you at the beginning of the book, not to stop drinking until the end of the book. If you’ve already stopped drinking, don’t take that advise, carry on doing what you’re doing.

The reason why he gives that advise is because he says to save one drink until the end of the book and he brings you through the whole system that he uses, it’s not even a system, it’s just breaking down your thoughts so every time you think, alcohol is helping me to relax; alcohol is helping me to socialise; alcohol is helping me to …. whatever it is, he gives you the reason why it’s bullshit.

Allen Carr talks about the propaganda and all that kind of stuff and then at the end of it, he tells you to take your one drink and think along these lines. What is it actually doing for you? You know it’s a liquid in a glass, it’s a foul tasting liquid in a glass which is not doing you any good. It’s not giving you any health benefits, it’s not doing anything for your life.

So I thought I would just do a quick one on that, there is a link down below, that you can buy the book from on Amazon. I’ve put a link for both the Amazon US Store and the Amazon UK Store. It’s an affiliate link, by the way, so if you buy the book through the link, I’ll get 5 cents or 10 cents, something like, but if you don’t want to go through that way go through Amazon Store and just order it yourself.

It’s called ‘Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Control Drinking Alcohol.’

I like promoting my own books but that book to me is, as far as alcohol is concerned, it’s one of the best you can get.

I don’t recommend a lot of books on alcohol because a lot of them are from the perspective of people who don’t know what they are talking about. They are written from a perspective of somebody who hasn’t had a drinking problem, and who doesn’t know what it’s like to have a drinking problem.

From my honest, biasedness maybe, perspective, I think they’re talking out of their arse and that in order to teach something you’ve got to have experience of it, but you know, this Guy was a Drinker, he understands what it’s like to be a Drinker and if your looking for a book go and get that one.

“The effect of the brainwashing is that we tend to think like the man who, having fallen off a 100-story building is heard to say as he passes the fiftieth floor, ‘So far, so good!” ― Allen Carr

I have read Allen’s book and also enjoyed his clear and honest messages related to alcohol use. Another two books you might enjoy are: “Empowering Your Sober Self” by Martin Nicholos and “In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts” by Gabor Mate. Addiction is a very interesting subject to study, and the more you learn, the more capable you become in regards to dealing with your own situation. In some ways, addiction is actually very simple and understandable. In other ways it is very complex and different for everyone. We all become “addicted” to many things in life. And very importantly, some addictions are more socially acceptable than others depending on where you live. More than half of the world’s population never drink alcohol. That in itself is something to consider seriously.

I agree totally… I think that there’s a lot to learn from studying habits in general, positive psychology, and even negative psychology to a certain degree… Thanks for the book tips
