Alcohol Poisons Your Body | Your Life Depends on Your Physical Body

by | Stop Drinking Alcohol | 7 comments

Today, I want to talk about how dependent you are on this body of yours.

It sounds like a stupid statement.

When you say it like that, everybody knows, but everything that you’ve got in life, everything that you do…walking.

I’m out here walking today.

It’s a scorching summer’s day, 38 degrees Celsius.

It’s really hot.

My office is in the basement, and I came up earlier on, out of the office.

The upstairs of the house is just massively hot, we’ve got no air conditioning in the house.

I just don’t like that stuff, it makes me feel sort of ill.

Anyway, your life, your loves, your drinking, your not drinking…it all depends on having this body, keeping this body, maintaining this body throughout your life.

You sort of have to look after it.

There’s a guy called Warren Buffet, and he was talking about…I don’t know what talk it was I was listening to…

Anyway he said if we were all given a car when we were young, say you passed your driving test and you were given a car fist day you passed your driving test, and that’s it.

For the rest of your life, this is the only car that you’re ever going to get.

You’ve got to keep this car for the rest of your life.

What would you do?

You’d look after it, wouldn’t you?

You’d park it in the garage, you’d make sure that it got its regular checks, you’d be obsessed about it.

You’d be taught how to do this, the people that came before you would say ‘’Learn by other people’s mistakes.

These guys here didn’t look after their cars and look where they are now.

They’ve got no car and they’re having to take public transport everywhere.

All they’ve got is a bicycle’’

They’d say ‘’in order to maintain this car for the rest of your life, you’ve got to put this car into a garage, you’ve got to get it waxed so that they paintwork doesn’t get destroyed.

When it’s raining, you’ve got to do this, and after the rain you’ve got to do that, when it’s sunny you have to do this and that, you have to change the oil every so often, you have to change the spark plugs and the filters, you have to look after the seats with this product…’’

There’d be so many different things that you’d have to do on a regular basis, just to maintain that car for the rest of your life.

The reason he was telling this was, you’ve probably guessed he was talking about the human body.

We’re only given one body and that body has to last us for the rest of our lives.

Sadly, this educational system doesn’t teach us how to look after that body.

When I was growing up, we had school dinners.

The school dinners comprised of chips and…I can’t even remember.

Some of that stuff I don’t even want to remember, it was that bad.

So, we’re not taught anything in schools.

Our parents basically teach us what they learned, or they teach us through what’s the easiest thing to teach, I suppose.

We learn through following examples, we learn through following what these people are doing, what our parents are doing, what teachers are doing, our peers are doing.

It’s something that you have to take responsibility for yourself, regardless of whether you’re twenty or sixty or seventy.

My father changed his diet after he’d had his second heart attack.

He was in the hospital, I remember going out with him the night before, we went out for a meal.

My dad was always a great eater and he prided himself on being a great eater.

His mother told him ‘’always clean your plate. So long as you’ve got a healthy appetite, you’ve got a healthy body’’.

And that was regardless of what you were actually putting into your body.

So many people have got this attitude towards food, towards alcohol, obviously.

Alcohol for me is the biggest one.

I stopped drinking 3 ½ years ago, but I’m open to stories of people who through one aspect or the other, are suffering from the alcohol they’ve put in their body.

That’s what it all boils down to,

it’s not the actual starting drinking alcohol or the process of drinking alcohol, it’s the accumulation of the alcohol in the human body over many years.

The accumulation of the ideas of alcohol, the many years of what alcohol means to our society.

It’s your responsibility to look after your own body because nobody else is going to do it.

Every drop of alcohol that you put into your body is not reversing anything, it’s not helping you, it’s doing more and more damage.

If you want to stop drinking alcohol, there’s only one way to do it, and that’s to not put any more alcohol in your mouth.

I suppose that’s what my weekly message, my daily message or whenever you’re seeing this video.

Stop the alcohol, put up with the discomfort that comes with stopping alcohol.

Get past the 30 day mark, the 60 day mark, the 90 day mark, and each one of these would bring you closer to your future, follow some goal in the future and forget about your past; leave the past behind you.

Treat your body well for now, because that’s all you’ve got.

You can’t do anything about how you treated your body in the past, all you can do is start from now and treat it well for now.

If you don’t know how to treat your body, your number one priority is to learn how to do that because this is your vehicle through life, it’s the only thing that you’ve got.

Once that is knackered or screwed, you’re screwed, basically.

Once your body goes, that’s the end of your world, that’s the end of your life, the end of your existence…whatever.

If you have any questions or comments, leave them down below.

If you want to come over to the website, we’ve got the audio and transcript of this.

There’s also a free video course, and the books…just teaching different ways of looking at the future and looking at relaxation and stress.

Until next time, keep the alcohol out of your mouth, stay happy, stay strong.

QUITTING ALCOHOL IS TOUGH AND ROUGH BUT IT IS WORTH ENOUGH

Until next time…
Onwards and Upwards!

    Great videos Kevin.
Not sure if you’ve talked before about the corrosive effects of alcohol on the body over time. I’d like to see that.

Thanks mate these daily videos are keeping me on track.I am into day 5 and I think I will make 30.I have been drinking for 47 years, every night 6 or 7.It was a real struggle I have been trying to quit for 12 months. My wife telling me I was selfish was the trigger and looking at my Grandaughter and the years I could share with her.I have done permanent damage to my body, however I am surprised how much better I feel, with no booze. My long term mate is in denial thinks I have lost it,I used to drink with him every Wednesday.I sat with him sober and couldn,t believe the crap he was sprouting after 2 bottles of wine .That was me last week,Jesus wept its a real eye opener. Cheers kev

Kevin, thank you for all your efforts on our behalf.
I have hit a problem which I don’t think you have covered yet.
That is convincing myself that I need to give up alcohol totally.
I understand your view that alcohol is a poison and that the recommended limit is a waste of time (not enough to achieve a buzz). Friends tell me I have never been dependent on alcohol or drunk to excess. I have sailed through the first 35 days with hardly a twinge, my blood pressure has improved. Maybe tackling this problem can be left for 2 – 3 years. The doctor says cut alcohol out 3 days a week and down to 2 beers the days I do drink i.e. no buzz at all. Moderation is a nightmare so maybe I’ll stick with total abstinence. Any thoughts?

What is dependent? In my opinion, if you need to drink to socialize, it’s a form of dependence. Anything over the guidelines is also drinking to excess. Moderation was a nightmare to me as well. All I wanted to do was binge drink – more than 2 beers anyway, more like 12. So I stopped altogether. Best decision ever. Changed my way of thinking and my life.

    Hey Kevin

Neil from sunny southern South Africa

I blame you entirely for giving me the willpower to sit at my wife’s birthday party supper and to be the sole toaster to use sparkling water !!!!

I love the one car in your life example

    Well done – thanks

    Hi Kevin

Thank you! After reading your book (the only one of many I could actually relate to properly) I am now going on 14 days that I have stopped drinking. The improvement in my health is terrific. Cannot believe I put myself through years of feeling constantly dreadful unless I had a drink. Only had one rough day after stopping and have felt great ever since. Thanks again and really enjoying your videos. You are a true inspiration.

    Morning Kevin
You are continuing to inspire me. My car/body is tuning up nicely with all your help. Perhaps i’ll become dependent on all the green nutriblasts I’m replacing the alcohol with. Can you eat too much spinach?? Seriously I love your holistic approach. It’s not just about DONT DRINK, it’s about what to replace drinking with in your life and taking small steps towards a huge leap of change in both physical and mental health. I really look forward to your daily video and watching you roaming the Spanish landscape. Thankyou x
