Hi Kev, I have not had any alcohol for more than 4 months and you have helped this happen. I am in the maintenance stage and very much miss the forum. It was really helpful to see how alcohol was effecting other people and also it helped me to try to offer some help. I think it takes a community of like minded people to maintain being AF as it can feel like your’e the only one doing it in our booze drenched culture. Is there any way it can return?

    best wishes

      Hi Sam,
First of all, well done to you on your four months free. Re the forum, I’m trying to sort something out. I’ve been looking into a private Facebook page, but it seems that some people don’t want that. I’m looking into a couple of solutions and will let you know via the newsletter. If anyone has any suggestions, I’ll be glad to hear them.
      Best wishes

Hello Kevin! I’ve been watching your stuff for about a year now and I thought I’d give you some feedback. As a former heavy/problem drinker/alcoholic (delete as applicable, ha ha) and someone employed in the alcohol treatment/recovery industry, can I just say that I find your stuff very enjoyable, informative and easy to digest! It makes sense (there is a lot of common sense bedded in there), which is good as usually the people who come to us aren’t in the best place mentally as I’m sure you’ll remember! I laughed long and hard when you talked about the speech you gave at the wedding in video 1. That pause is priceless!!!!!! I am well qualified to cringe with you as I also regularly made an arse of myself when drinking.
We use a wide range of tools here to help people including SMART/12 STEP/CBT etc etc etc. I advocate all recovery methods/tools really if they help, and poo poo none because the whole subject is so subjective; one mans poison etc etc etc.
I see recovery as a big house with many different rooms to play in/get well in and people are more than welcome to visit multiple rooms, nothing is exclusive. I’m gonna use your stuff with some of our groups if possible in the future? Onwards and upwards!

    Looking forward to your comments

Thanks for your kind words, Mark… Yes, when I look back on that first vid, which I don’t do too often, I still cringe. More so with seeing what I had become. I agree that it’s not the vehicle you get to your destination that matters, but that you do get there in the end. Whatever material you want to use, feel free. If I can be of any other help, let me know. Onwards and upwards!
      Kind regards
      Kev
