Alcohol Is Not Your Friend Alcohol Is Your Enemy…

by | Stop Drinking Alcohol | 2 comments

How’re you doing? I’m Kevin O’Hara for alcoholmastery.com.

Today, I want to talk about Alcohol is not your friend.

It never was, it never will be.

Alcohol is your enemy.

The topic of today’s video is looking at how alcohol affects your life, physically, mentally, spiritually,… Through every aspect of your life in fact… Now, it’s not that alcohol itself is a damaging substance for your body, it’s not. I hope you enjoy this video.

Your body is quite capable of handling small amounts of alcohol, it produces small amounts of alcohol as part of the digestive processes… But, the amount of alcohol that it takes to get drunk are super excessive. Your body has got nowhere near the capacity to deal with this.

In the short-term, the damage can be mitigated through other physical elimination processes, through being young, or because every time you suffer the consequences of a hangover, your whole system is trying to tell you to stop through various pain mechanisms…

But, we don’t listen…

We have to get to the understanding that alcohol is not your friend.

I’m not saying it like alcohol has some personality, or something that it can have any influence over you and therefore is doing something bad to you. None of that bullshit.

It’s not the alcohol that does any of this stuff.

It’s the way your body reacts to the alcohol.

Alcohol is a normal part of our lives and bodies.

As a natural human, you have alcohol as part of the digestive process.

Every time you eat something, the longer food stays in your system, the more it starts to ferment and obviously it’s causing a lot of alcohol as a by product of that fermentation.

If you were in the wild 10,000 years ago, you’d have a lot more of this natural alcohol in your system because you’d see ripe fruits on the trees and you’d eat those.

If you were a hunter, that would be part of your diet.

Even the stuff we’d throw out nowadays, you’d eat those 10,000 years ago.

But your body is capable of dealing with that amount of alcohol. Your body can deal with one unit of alcohol per hour.

That in terms of the alcohol that surfaces through your digestion, or the alcohol you’re likely to put into your body through these natural means, that one unit of alcohol per hour is massive.

It’s huge.

It’s well within your capabilities of dealing with anything your body can throw at you.

The way we put alcohol into our bodies, this is how we cause ourselves so many problems.

If you look at food for instance, at how we would get food as a normal, natural part of our lives if we just concentrated our food gathering on the primitive world.

If you take the categories of fat, sugar and salt, it’s all in the environment.

Fat is in the vegetables and fruits and all that stuff that we eat.

It’s in many different aspects of the food we take into our bodies, and so is sugar and salt.

But the body is designed to take in these amounts of fat, sugar and salt, but in the modern day world we live in, the food scientists who are working for the big food conglomerates, they know that we crave fat, sugar and salt; so they pile this stuff into the food.

If you saw how much salt was in just basic stuff like your breakfast cereals, and how they get a lot more salt into it just by crunching it down, grinding it up and disguising the flavour.

Same with sugar and fat.

How much of this stuff they’re able to put into the food just to make it taste better.

When you look at normal food, any food you take has a natural taste.

Even the normal whole foods that we’re buying now are sort of a shadow of what the normal food used to be 100 years ago, just because we’ve been overusing the soil and using lots of different chemicals to keep away pests.

That’s a different story.

What we use fat, sugar and salt for, there’s a definite purpose for.

Fat is for storage of energy.

Sugar is to give us energy and what energy we don’t use can be turned into fat.

We need certain amounts of salt in our body for normal functions.

The same goes with alcohol.

Alcohol in itself has a function.

It’s a by-product of a function, I should say.

It’s a natural part of the process, and the body is capable of dealing with that.

Once we get outside of all those natural bounds, and you get man interfering with the food or the alcohol for the sake of making millions of dollars or pounds, sticking them into his bank account and letting it grow.

What I’m trying to say is that small amounts of alcohol are a natural part of the cycle, but if anyone tries to tell you that drinking is normal, and they say they’ve been drinking for thousands of years, it’s still only a small little blip on the map of how long we’ve been around as human beings.

When you say that alcohol is normal, we’re not designed to drink alcohol in that way.

It might be a normal cultural practise now, but when you look back into our own history, you’ll see that there have been a lot of normal practices which have died down into the dusts of time.

We look at it and think it would be crazy to bring them back.

Slavery was normal.

Taking Heroin was normal back then.

Sacrifice was normal back then but not anymore.

When we’re looking at normalcy in this context, you have to look at it from a realistic thinking perspective.

Be intelligent about it.

Think, is this normalcy good for me or bad for me?

Whatever way you look at alcohol, it’s bad for your health.

Whatever way you look at it, it’s your enemy not your friend.

That’s how you have to view alcohol.

Stop thinking that it’s doing you any good, or that it’s helping you in any way, that it’s got any place in your life or family.

It hasn’t.

We’re just brainwashed into believing that it has.

Alcohol is your enemy.

Putting these amounts of alcohol into your system has only got one final end result, and that’s misery.

Misery for you and the people around you.

Get it out of your system, out of your life, out of your culture if you can work towards that.

At one stage, smoking cigarettes was normal, and it’s gradually dying.

In some parts it’s still growing but it’s only a matter of time.

I believe it’s only a matter of time before alcohol is also following that path. People will eventually start asking why they are putting the toxin into their body just for the sake of feeling a bit weird, all in the name of relaxation.

I’ll leave it there.

You speak so much sense. Why is it considered so normal to poison ourselves in this way. It feels as though nothing is fun unless booze is involved from bowling to BBQs
